Campaigner Ros Altmann named new pensions minister
Her appointment was welcomed by the pensions industry

My comment
The new Pension Minister on her appointment said “I have worked hard for many years to help ordinary pension savers and expose injustice. I’ve been trying to make pensions and savings work better for ordinary people.” (frozen pensioners are also, in reality, just ordinary people).

I hope that the “Doctor”, Ros Altmann will expose the injustice the former Minister continued to follow in the discrimination against about half of all (1.2 million), expat pensioners, by freezing their entitled full State Pension, and prescribe a dose of equality and fairness for all pensioners.

Perhaps she can prescribe to Mr C. a remedy that will see him accept that just protecting the old war heroes, (he referred to in his pre-election campaigning speech), free bus pass is not justice for all. He should also protect the State Pension and uprate those that have been frozen for, in the case of those war heroes, over 30 years. You get out what you pay in he said in his campaigning speech.

Now with a majority government let us see how much he will stick to the “Equality and Fairness” he supports.

Here, we the frozen pensioners in Indonesia, (the PPiI. Pension Parity in Indonesia), are looking to a brighter future.

One contributor to the article said “- - - - - her experience will be a great asset - - - She is inheriting a pension system which is in the throes of implementing three hugely significant reforms _ _ _and the changes to the state pension.”

One change that was not included in the Webb new Pension Act is the removal of the discrimination against expat pensioners. Let us hope justice will now be done and the clause 20 will be removed from the new Act and the old Regulation 3 will be amended to stop frozen pensions policy.

Yes I do know that Ms Altmann is not a medical doctor! (poetic license)

Will Ros Altmann come down on the side of equality, fairness and no discrimination for frozen Pensioners? Or will she step into the dearly departed, (From office), shoes of Mr Webb?

Osborne will of course direct her to be a Webb shadow and do away with NIS contributions in favour of earnings tax and toss the fund into the general fund.

Well, maybe, but I think the light at the end of our tunnel might get a little brighter.

A new campaign will no doubt be linked to her past works and financial knowledge and common sense will hopefully raise our hopes.

Clive (Indonesia)
