Mike,

Some of this is a bit vague, eg, this early (she was not in service at the time she was written about) how do they know the VP props are the cause of an astern thrust problem? Maybes aye, maybes naw. One vessel from Scotts had related problems, and these were found to relate to the aft hull form. For a start, too fine. A remedy was found. I don't understand why non-consecutive engine serial numbers should cause suspicion or concern - engines haven't got a use-by date. The serial/engine number (Kincaid's ran from K1 to K519) is assigned by the engine builder for their own records. Finally, an engine on shop test in Kincaids ran every bottom end. The world still revolved.

Who is complaining? Not the builders, not the owners, so who? It hasn't reached the local papers here.

Hugh.
