This afternoon I went to the Maritime Museum to see a new exhibition re the Centenary next month of the sinking of the LUSITANIA. It wasn’t very good, however, down on the Ground Floor was a terrific exhibition, about the Child Migrant scheme from Britain to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and S. Rhodesia. The childrens’ Charities have got a lot to answer for in sending young children to the Colonies.

I believe an apology was given by the UK and Australian Governments a few years ago

Yes Michael, a lot of those children are still alive today in their 70, 80s and 90s.

They were, in the main, treated very badly in Australia.

A lot of them sexually assaulted.

Some of them have been appearing in the current Royal Commission on Child Abuse.

Their stories are beyond belief.

That Australian was promoted to Cardinal rank, some of us believe, to get him out of Australia before the Royal Commission could get their hands on him.

When last seen in Australia, he was not believable in what he said.
