[BITList] On their own - Britain's child migrants - Merseyside Maritime Museum, Liverpool museums

John,

This afternoon I went to the Maritime Museum to see a new exhibition re the Centenary next month of the sinking of the LUSITANIA.  It wasn’t  very good, however, down on the Ground Floor was a terrific exhibition, about the Child Migrant scheme from Britain to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and  S. Rhodesia.  The childrens’ Charities have got a lot to answer for in sending young children to the Colonies.

I believe an apology was given by the UK and Australian Governments a few years ago
