Frank,

The hatch cover (actually a long rectangular stiffened plate set flush into the deck with many csk head bronze screws) gave onto a wide alleyway running fore and aft with a lifting beam on the underside of the deck above running to a suitable area. So the centre gennie was fine. Some design features were set in stone before I got involved.
