Colin,

The song about the big machine is one of Rabbie Burns' lesser known works. Rab, as is not generally known, was Chief on the Sirdhana for a while.  It goes:

The Second said before he died
He'd left his wife unsatisfied;
So he made a big machine,
and the whole ****ing issue was driven by steam.

But the stop valve was left-handed,
The stop valve was left-handed,
The stop valve wa-a-a-as left-handed,
A most peculiar thing.

Maybe other verses, then ....

Now we come to the bitter bit,
There was no way of stopping it;
The maid was slit from her *rs* to her tit,
And the whole ***ing issue was covered in shit.

For the stop valve was, etc.

Not often sung in church.

While first trip fiver on Chakdara I made diagrams of some of her systems, none of which I can lay a hand on at the moment. But I think she had 3 Allan steam gennies. We often had to run one up to take the starting load of a purifier - shut it down again once the purifier was running.
