Greenock has hosted the Tall Ships twice. Both were brilliant, but nothing matched the evening during the first visit when it rained.  There had been no rain for ages, and the place was like an oven.  The pubs emptied and crowds stood with faces and hands upraised and silly grins on their faces, getting soaked.  For half an hour we were slightly insane.
