Mike,

Fred was indeed a very nice chap and he'll be sadly missed. We had a few drinks together at various BI functions, a couple of times at the Campanile on the Friday before the BI Lunch in Glasgow - and we corresponded off groups. He had a dry wit, much like my mother's.
