5,000 or 4,100? Dr Stutely, my HNC maths tutor, threatened to take marks off for any sign of arithmetic in a written answer. And he wasn't kidding. In primary school, when the class around me were feverishly calculating (in their heads) the price of 123 eggs at one and twopence a dozen, my brain was saying, "Boring - don't even think about it."  Early onset Alzheimers?
