[BITList] OLD STARS AND THEIR OLD CARS

Cars had style in those days.  The photo of Buck Jones fair takes me back to the mid 40s, Saturday afternoon matinees at The Ranch (Sunday name, The Central Picture House) in Greenock.  A penny bus ride to it, a penny in (wooden seats at the front), and a penny home.  If the weather was good, we'd run all the way (about 4 miles, we never walked anywhere), and all the way back, giving 2d to spend.  Buck Jones, William Boyd, Charles Starret, Gabby Hayes, Errol Flynn, Jon Hall - and the Dead End Kids.
