On the Hull bombing and WW2 secrecy, nothing was allowed to be printed about exactly where the bombs fell Our local evening paper, the Greenock Telegraph, put out an emergency edition on the 9th of May, 1941 with the headline : SCOTS TOWN BLITZED. The raid of 7th/8th May was the 7th and final since July 1940 - it damaged the newspaper building, hence the emergency edition. Most of us knew what towns had been blitzed, the closest the paper got to it was Clydeside.
