Colin,

Why do some think turf wars more important than fire safety? Incompetence, I'd say. Faced with such, I usually plan on looking after myself. In one office, I was taken to task for leaving by "the wrong fire exit" during a fire drill.  This came from a gent who had poo-hooed a complaint I made about tins of paint blocking the fire stairs on the grounds that they knew they were there.  I told him not to get in my way if I fire ever occurred.

Morar's gennies were 3x180kW, Ruston diesel/Campbell & Isherwood. I don't recall them being all that noisy. Pulsations from the gasifiers were noisier.
