Just received “The Essential Collection – Ted Heath” – 2 cd’s of some of Ted’s best for $10.73 delivered.
The tracks were recorded at the Landsdowne Studios in Holland Park, London  specifically for the overseas market, primarily the US. Unfortunately no date is given.
Kenny Baker, Stan Tracey, Jack Parnell, Roy Wilcox, Don Lusher, Ronnie Verrel, Johnny Hawksworth were some of the band members featured on this set of re-mastered cd’s
I have not heard Ted and the band play better, swinging precision all the way through, some neat vibes in there al la Hampton too. 
There is a short good bye from Ted himself signing off with “Listen to my Music”.
With a total of 53 tracks of many of Ted’s best music [Opus 1, Take the ‘A’ Train, Hot Toddy, Flying Home, Georgia, Heading North"] it’s a must for big band fans.
Very highly recommended.
