[BITList] desert island discs

There are machines for sale that will take a record and a blank disk and copy the content of the former onto the latter.  The ones I've seen are made up to look like typical 50s/60s record players.  The Independent was selling one for a while.  As for noise, that doesn't bother me unless it's excessive. I daresay, as Colin's contribution suggests, once it's on disk, things can be tweaked.
