Couple of items could be of interest, has anyone heard of the " Scott Still" engine?, apparently the " Bluey,s " Dolius was fitted with twin fours 2 stroke Diesels, and steam was used instead of starting air, and steam was also injected to the underside of the pistons, very economical according to the article. She lasted from 1924-1951. A Glen line ship (approx 11000 tons carried 21 officers -8 Chinese po,s and 34 Chinese crew, think this was in the 60,s. Bill Power.
