as we know from the last US president [bush], US voters are not yet averse to having a buffoon as president!
in fact, if enough largesse is doled out, it becomes a good possibility.
hence it is not impossible but unlikely that neither trump or palin would be elected; of themselves they don’t have the clout or wealth.
all that could be blown away, however, if either was taken in hand by a particularly rich and powerful individual or group and coached to do their bidding.
palin is such a scatter brain that this scenario is unlikely to happen using her as a frontispiece president.
do I sound cynical ?

As all of Scotland knows, excepting those who have accepted money from him in brown envelopes for services rendered in the field of getting round planning regulations, Trump is a buffoon.
