The other evening there was a TV news item about some (w)bankers' swish rave up - may have been Glasgow, can't recall, but UK certainly, and within the past week or so. It was like the dance in Pride and Prejudice - jewellery everywhere, and the ladies weren't far behind.  One perspiring young ponce was asked about recent bonuses - he ummed a bit, then said, "six figures, next year - eight."  Another decidedly flushed and tieless youngish gent was asked if he was at all concerned about the picture they, the bankers, were giving to the rest of us.  He looked onto space, shrugged, then said, "No."  I can't see this egregious bullshit being tolerated much longer.
