how right you are, hugh

where was kevin constner and the magical centrifugal force when we needed him? but you may recall that in the good old bi days this centrifugal force thing wasn't even invented! and I agree, I can put my time to better use than washing heavy oil by hand.

however, fast forward to the present time, all is not lost - the patch of oil 10 miles x 3 miles x 300 ft could be cleaned up by the 4 x 200 gpm centrifuge things running non-stop in a little more than 4000 years!.[+/- 500 years]

Godalmighty Colin, had we had these centrifugal things in BI, what a difference it would have made to life. All those hours spent washing heavy oil by hand then tramping the water out of it in a large bucket (it simply played hell with ones skin) when we could have been on deck enjoying ourselves with everyone else. Why couldn't Kevin Kostner have invented it sooner? There seems to be plenty of scope for his invention - allegedly (and possibly) there is a "patch" of oil 10 miles by 3 miles by 300 feet deep on the surface somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hugh.
