oh dear, hugh

never say those words again - you know there is no such thing as a genuine accident...................................

"genuine accident" is an oxy thingy.

yeah, I saw the white box; I guess it was hastily constructed - it's costing BP a $1,000,000 an hour!

there will be a huge law suit in due course BP v Transocean. every lawyer in the US is getting into the act already with liability and class actions - tv commercials from them already.

oh to be a lawyer, now that pollution is here.........................

one nice case and we could retire.

Colin,

It gets curiouser and curiouser. And the Telegraph think the BOP is a safety valve (see link alongside subject story). It is just possible, safety records notwithstanding, that the thing was a genuine accident. I see on TV today, that a tall white fabrication is to be lowered onto the sea bottom, hopefully to contain the spill. Details were lacking, but they (the TV) seemed to be saying it was hastily constructed. Given the already yawning gap between reality and what the media say, I'd take that with a pinch of salt.

Hugh.
