do you recall the names of any of the other engineers during your time there on dara?

I believe the 2eo was ramsey burrill, 3eo may have been logie buchan or a wee lad from glasgow john edgar.
during the same time I was 4eo. I don't recall a frank!

According to my discharge book looks like I did a couple of trips 10/2/60 & 16/3/60 & again 12/5/60 ~ 8/6/60 with a trip on the Amra in between all came about because I was sent out 6 months too early to join the Karanja so with prohibition in full swing I volunteered to sail as  a junior engineer (I had got myself graded thinking that I had to) just to get out of Bombay and back to sea

   I am a bit of a fraud as I joined Dumra and never went west of Bombay.

  We went to HK for survey and that's when the cracks were found in the boilers

  So my 12 months or so on her were spent swinging round the buoy alongside

  Kai Tak. 4 of us stayed, Don Leslie Mate, Roger Alderman 3rd Mate, George Foster C/E

  and me. So my stint on a Gulf D wasn't so hard. I went on leave before the new boilers arrived.
