I had a look on Snopes, and according to them the exam text is genuine, but they have grave reservations about the comment on it, eg, present day 8th Graders would certainly fail it, not having studied that particular curriculum with its narrow range (their comment).  For myself, I've no way of comparing, since I don't know what to standard 8th Grade refers.  My School Report book states : " .... provision is made for 10 stages through the Junior and Senior Divisions."  Closer examination, and recollection of teachers' names, indicates I was in 7 classes in Primary School, age 5 to 11.
