G'day folks,

Just after lunch time this afternoon, I closed the boot of the car having loaded it up for our departure.

The phone rang and Queensland Railways told me that they had had to cancel today's train due to flooding of the track further south. Sometimes they will run the train to the town nearest the stoppage and transport the passengers to the other side by bus. But this time even the bus would not get through the floods.

So, its a case and wait and see - when I checked with the motoring organisation they told me that there was a bridge under water about 50 Km south of Townsville and that traffic could not proceed. I then rang the Police Station and they told me that the rood was clear down to Bowen, some 180 Km south.

So we have decided to "sit and wait and see."

Perhaps things will have improved by Wednesday or Thursday morning.
