That's scary stuff.  I heard a tale (and I've no reason to believe it), that in the old days, shipyard managers who took the word "boss" too seriously were apt to have things dropped on them from a height, purely by accident, you understand, and never lethal. That was for behaviour light years away from what is reported in the article - a rig offshore must have unlimited possibilities for a similar reaction.
