The lack of support for Cadets. 

The inappropriate language used to Cadets by the ships officers.

Being called 'the scum  of the earth' does not exactly engender a love for the Company.

And no, I didn't have a thin skin. I had been in boarding schools for 6 years.

Had I been placed on of the two cadet ships, I might have persevered.
