[BITList] Top Gear locus

I am in no way a fan of Jeremy Clarkson and his spendthrift ways, but I've  
noticed in the
background to his many "pranks", a Boeing 747 sitting idly.
                                                     
      This appears to have its four seperate  engines replaced by two 
twin-pod units.
 
Does anybody know the "whys and wherefores" for this modification ?
