Lance Armstrong was NOT the first man on the moon - that honour belongs to Louis Armstrong.  Not as bad a Buzz Lightyear, however.

I rather like the big band theory as a new answer.

The author of ‘I was a fluorescent adolescent, struck down by reality.’ shows promise.  It's gloriously obscure.

And finally, anyone who can invent a word like 'glumply' can't be all bad.
