Trujillo's millions

WHEN Telstra boss Sol Trujillo returns to the United States this year,
he will have at least $27 million worth of luxury properties to call
home.

From sun-drenched country club estates to a roomy Aspen ski lodge, he
will be spoilt for choice after a fraught four years at the helm of
Australia's biggest telco.

The chief executive, who leaves the company with a payout tipped to
reach $20 million, owns five multi-million-dollar abodes around the US.

Mr Trujillo, who axed 10,000 jobs and presided over a share price
plunge of 25 per cent, is known for his expensive tastes.

The properties listed jointly in his name and that of his wife,
Corine, represent some of America's most expensive real estate.

There is their beachfront residence on California's sunny Dana Point,
worth an estimated $6.6 million, which takes in sweeping ocean views.

Should the couple prefer a cooler climate, there is the $9.8 million
five-bedroom lodge in Aspen -- the Colorado ski resort that is a
playground for celebrities.

There is the $2.4 million boulevard condominium in Los Angeles which
has more bathrooms than bedrooms, or their lavish Del Mar Country Club
retreat in San Diego, valued at $6.8 million.

Back in Englewood, Colorado, is the couple's two-storey, five-bedroom
home with six bathrooms, two fireplaces and a spa bath - worth $1.8
million.

Mr Trujillo finishes as Telstra chief on June 30, leaving before his
five-year contract expires.

My Comment: I wonder if he has enough money from the Australian
Shareholders of Telstra?
