[BITList] Fwd: How do these people survive?

Mike,

I can vouch for at least one of these. In Kincaid's DO I witnessed a chap getting some paper to write on - he did the same as the lady in the e-mail, ran off a few blank copies. My late mother-in-law saw her first microwave oven being used in Canada (for heating up a cup of tea that had cooled a bit too much), but didn't quite grasp the concept. It was some days into the holiday before it was noted she made a cuppa by boiling cup of water in the oven, then adding a tea bag.

And here is one to cap the lot, from yesterday's Herald.

"A 73-year-old angler described his surprise when a shop assistant refused to sell him fishing equipment - unless he could prove he was over 18 years old. John Payne wanted to buy a fishing catapult at the Original Factory Shop in Melksham, Wiltshire, when he was asked to show valid identification. Mr Payne, a great grandfather of nine, from Bremhill, Calne, has been fishing around the county for more than 50 years."

Hugh.
