Sin die, as in "he got sin died", has always been the standard way of doing it in the West of Scotland, but we are a pretentious bunch - and elsewhere, for all I know.  I think it was Willie Woodburn of Glasgow Rangers who famously got "sin died".  As far as know, being "sin died" means you are out of the game, literally, for good.
