Until the last bit I was reminded of a Spike Millgan act on TV.  Spike walked on with a saw, a length of wood, and a trestle.  He bowed left and right, put the wood on the trestle, then sawed a bit off, all the while smiling at the audience as if he was doing something amazing.  Having finished, he bowed right and left, and exited (to applause).
