Here is what I have been sending out to friends most of today, so if

Floods in Townsville.

So far so good. We live on the side of a hill so there is little
chance of us getting flooded out. Marijke (eldest daughter) on the
other hand lives right next to Ross River.

Joanne (youngest daughter) lives two streets below us but not too far
from level ground.

Fresh milk has run out in all the shops. I expect that bread might be
the next. We have a stock of Ryevita and similar stuff so we should be
alright.

We've had it if we lose the electric power. We have two fridges and
freezers. We can live without the air conditioners.

More rain is expected and there is a 'King tide' coming next week.

On the local news tonight they said that the local dam flood gates
have been opened to release water - 470,000 litres per second is
flowing right now, into Ross River and out to sea. Thats 103,385
gallons per second.

We are cut off from the North, the South and the West, but if we had a
boat we could travel to the East!
