Here is a brief bit about P&O's "R" class ships of 1925:
"Rawalpindi","Ranchi", "Ranpura"and "Rajputana"

In 1923 the keels were laid for the last class of vessels
in the post war rebuilding programme. They were the
four "R" class ships,all named after areas or cities of
India, and designed in fact for the London & Bombay
