This can be overcome if using two Apple computers.

I have to confess that it can be done using M$ computers too.

Set one up to read the mail everyday, but set the mail program such  
that it does not delete the mail at the server supplying the mail.

The set the other machine up to 'get the mail' but set to remove the  
mail after, 7 days.
