Colin,

Despite her new found fame, I wouldn't know Mrs Palin if I fell over her on Sauchiehall Street on a clear day, so I trust that was a gifted comedienne taking le piss.  If otherwise, for god's sake don't tell me.

We missed the farewell from the Clyde to the QE2, Janet being in bed with a nasty cold, and me coming down with one. Daughter and son-in-law offered a lift down to Greenock to see her, but it's just as well I declined - they didn't get near. They tried vantage points on the hills, and these were packed out also. We saw her last year, and I was aboard her in drydock when she was fitting out just before her trials, so that will have to do.
