G'day folks,
This is worth a look around - to see what children are doing in
schools today with computers.
QSITE - Queensland Society [for] Information Technology [in] Schools.

QSITE is pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 Queensland
Schools Web Challenge
The theme for the 2008 challenge was ‘Regional Australia’.
Each year the standard of the entries improves significantly, and the
students and teacher mentors for the winning and runner up teams must
be congratulated for the effort they put into working with the teams.
First place goes to:
Years 11 - 12: Cairns Crusaders from St Monica’s Catholic College, for
their website on Cairns
Years 9 - 10: Team 3 from Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School for their
website on The Pilbara
Years 4 - 8: SEALs from MacGregor State School for their website on
the School of the Air
Second place goes to:
Years 11 - 12: FNQ Natives from St Monica’s Catholic College for their
website for kids on FNQ Native Animals
Years 9 - 10: T & T team from Moreton Bay College for their website on
Stanthorpe Wineries
Years 4 - 8: Australia’s Backyard from Fraser Coast Anglican College
for their website on Towns/Places in Australia
Special Judges Awards for websites that show imagination and
innovation go to:
Darlington Water Savers from Darlington State School
Environmental Friends from Darlington State School
The Young Einsteins from Moggill State School
Team 5 from Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School
We thank all students for their participation and teachers for their
support during the competition.
Full details of winners, runners up and encouragement award recipients
will be available on the QSITE website soon.
All students who competed in the competition will receive
certificates. Prizes and certificates will be delivered to schools
within the next two weeks.
