Indeed. While a Mac can also take a screen shop of the whole screen it  
is a simple matter on a Mac to select just a portion of the whole  
screen that is required. That, is what you saw.

I am sorry to hear of your FDD troubles. A FDD can be obtained for a  
Mac. But, plugging it in the wrong way round is impossible. Even the  
power cable fits in either way that you wish to insert it.
