In 1958 I was in the PALIKONDA in the Andaman Islands loading Logs for Europe.  I was told by the Agent that occasionally the Police would visit these aboriginals on some of the islands.  They would land on the beach naked to show they were not carrying weapons !  The Japs during WWII gave the natives a tough time.
