The drill press.  In Kincaid's Apprentice Training School, c 1949, we had one such. A good friend, big Davie, damn near choked himself while drilling something, necktie dangling near. Why a tie? I hear you ask.  Damned if I can say - at 16 most of us were daft. And the various adjustable spanners bring to mind using a contraband shifting spanner on one BI vessel. Why contraband? The Chief had told us he didn't want to see any ^%$£%^ shiting spanners anywhere near the engine room.
