The vessel's name rang a bell, but a very faint one. I extracted this from a table on a website.

The A.U.S.N. Co's S.S. "Arawatta" [art original]

Green, Allan C., 1878-1954, artist

The SS Arawatta was a ship that travelled between Melbourne and Brisbane.

Arthur Albert Crane was 3rd Mate on this vessel until about 1911.
