When you go out to eat and leave a tip, you assume that tip goes to your server. You left it for the person who took your order and brought your food, not for their boss.

But under a new rule being considered by Trump’s Department of Labor, employers would be allowed to take their workers’ tips.

Tell the Department of Labor: Don’t let restaurants steal workers’ tips!

This rule, pushed by the other NRA, the National Restaurant Association, would make tips the property of employers instead of workers. If passed, it would overturn decades of labor law which held that tips belong to the employees who receive them.

In most states, servers and other tipped workers make just $2.13 an hour, so they rely on their tips to make ends meet.

Even the most conservative previous administrations never tried to steal workers’ tips. But Trump hasn't declined a single opportunity to help out other greedy bosses like himself.

This is nothing more than legalised theft designed to pad the pockets of national chains and unscrupulous restaurateurs.
