The last Company I worked for before leaving the Sea was Chinese owned through a Hong Kong company.  This was 1995.  A couple of years before, the Company was recruiting people from the mainland.  A technical man come over with a degree, he obviously wanted to make a name for himself and he discovered that one of the major costs to the Company was Luboil for their fleet.

He recommended that they reduce the amount of Luboil to the main engines !  It soon became apparent due to Main Engine Cylinder wear that his ideas didn’t work with numerous ships having problems !
