[BITList] Phil Girdlestone, steam pioneer – obituary

On Wednesday, 8th. I, along with members of the Liverpool Anchorage Club, had a trip on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway from Porth Madog to Blaenau  Ffestiniog.  The Locomotive was double ended, i.e. the driving wheels were fore and aft of the cab and boiler, it was built in 1929.  The gauge is 1ft. 11.5 inches.  Everyone enjoyed the 1h.10m. trip.  Lovely scenery.
