______Carnival Cruise Line Case Into Woman Who Fell Overboard By: Andy Hodges

Carnival Cruise Line is still working with the FBI's investigation into the disappearance of Samantha Broberg, 33, who's been missing after she fell overboard from the Carnival Liberty. The Texas mom is suspected of going overboard into the Gulf of Mexico about noon on May 13, 2016. Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer De La Cruz said based "on the video analysis, we can confirm that it appears she climbed up and sat on a deck railing and subsequently fell backwards." The footage was taken when the ship was about 200 miles southeast of Galveston, Texas, and it should be enough evidence to close the investigation. However, the FBI started their investigation when rumors surfaced that a knife had been found alongside a blood stain near where she fell. But Carnival immediately denied the rumors. You can see the picture below of a stain where the area was roped off. When the photo was presented to Carnival, they immediately responded by stating there "is no foul play suspected. Your photo merely shows a spill on the deck. No knife found," a spokesperson said. "FBI notification and review is standard procedure in situations like this. Again, there is no foul play suspected." As Carnival said in its statement, it is standard procedure to notify the FBI. There is no evidence that the stain was actual blood. Special Agent Shauna Dunlap, a spokesperson for the FBI's Houston office, also stated that it was standard procedure. "We get called in whenever there is a death that occurs that is uncertain in how it occurred," says Dunlap. "The FBI is coordinating with Carnival on an ongoing death investigation." When asked if there's been any new information about the case, Dunlap wouldn't confirm or comment. "That will be answered by the ongoing investigation. Until we have a chance to complete a thorough investigation, we wouldn't be able to comment at this time." The sad thing about this incident is that the stay-at-home mother is still missing. Some people have made speculations that she was drunk and fell overboard, others have said it was her own fault for sitting on a railing. Broberg is the wife of Karl Broberg, the top Thoroughbred horse trainer in the United States. He was not on the Carnival ship. Some people blame Carnival Cruise Line for trying to brush this incident off and forgetting that it ever happened. Unfortunately, it's not the cruise line's fault, and they didn't push her overboard. In most cases, people fall overboard by sitting on the railing or climbing to areas of the ship that are dangerous. The railings are there for a reason, and the chairs near them are used for sitting.
