Every Brit and Aussie would know this man - a great personality on the silver screen and square box.

"Henry V”  - 1944 - comes around regularly on late night TV. Right at the beginning George Cole comes on [aged about 19 years] to the stage in a simulated “Globe Theatre” carrying a large board on which is written the scene.

I look for it every time and wonder at the place that he played in my life.

He served during WWII in the RAF as a radio operator.
