The article still plugs the patronising myth of the silver surfer. Was I the only person on earth who used a computer, and programmed the bloody thing, in the early/mid 70s, it being too dumb to do anything than sit waiting? Apart from buying one, exactly what did the smartphone generation do to advance the science of computing?
