Mike,

There's nothing whatever wrong with collision - it's just that allision is 
kinda trendy, like, y'know. As also is "meet up with" (meet),  and "guys" , 
applied to anyone, often preceded by "you". There was a time when addressing 
a few ladies as "hey, you guys" might have led to castration, or worse.  One 
of my pet hates is "cheers", which some now think means "thanks". I'll 
finish up here, lest I divert onto ill-dresssed men on TV who neither shave 
nor grow a beard.
