Dr. Jhunjhunwala works systematically on topical concerns. Some of them become commercial technologies. I hope this one does.

He experiments with them at IITM campus, in homes and Department labs, documents the gains and then makes them public.

Prof (Padma Shri) Ashok Jhunjhunwala is from the 75 batch (IITK), and is currently at IIT Madras. He has come up with a simple and brilliant
solution to run a cluster of houses on solar energy alone. He explains the principles used in a 8 min video clip :
