Amazing engineering for the 1920’s OH&S doesn’t rate too high. No harnesses; no masks when grinding granite. Not mentioned were the 16 deaths during construction. No mention of trams that were also a part of early transport across the bridge. Not sure about the 40,000 pedestrians per hour mentioned in the statistics - seems unlikely.

Sydney had a larger network of trams than Melbourne prior to their withdrawal in 1958 presumably due to congestion on Sydney’s narrow streets.
