They're all at it.  The other day I read a piece by one of the high heid 
yins at BAE Systems on the Clyde.  He was greatly taken by a new toy that - 
he reckoned, in his limited experience of shipbuilding -  was just the thing 
to bring them up to scratch with the rest of the world.  This device would 
enable his staff to see the vessel in 3D before too many mistakes were 
made - one assumes before any drawings were done, which rather begs the 
question of how the 3D images are to be created.  As I recall, I and others 
were able to see things in 3D without such aids, and rubber neckers and 
second guessers from on high were thereby unable to put oars in. And when I 
retired in the late1990s we were able to create them with AutoCad, though we 
were too busy doing real work to bother much about pretty picture stuff.
