Neither did I.

and the comments rather put me off. I'm afraid I don't know know what a"value" is, let alone an Australian "value”.

A value would be how each country looks at things in a different way.

You may or may not have read about Saturday's tragedy in Glasgow where an out-of-control bin lorry mowed down Christmas shoppers for 300 yards, killing 6 (to date) and badly injuring as many others, not to mention a great many greatly traumatised. That would have been bad and ugly enough, doubly so at Christmas - two grandparents and their granddaughter among the dead - but it didn't rest there.

Things like that travel around the world at the speed of the Internet. It was on TV here, very quickly..

Comments on Facebook from a group calling themselves God Hates Scots included: "5,000,000 retarded Scots, and you're crying because 6 die. Grow up ffss, it's not as if they were famous." and "Ya see, his is what happens when you vote against your independance! Too cowardly to vote YES, god will wrath upon your shameful nation. 6 less Glaswegians = Naaat enuff." Actually, half the dead came from Clydebank. Facebook? Their response to complaints was along the lines that it was satire. The Police took a different view, as they did in the case of the chap in Sunderland who reckoned the bin lorry was only doing its job, sweeping up rubbish.

That is why Australia is enacting laws which prohibit such behaviours.

I suppose like Australia you have lots of young people committing suicide because they are experiencing cyber bullying?

There are scum in every society - usually without jobs or future.

ooroo
